Her research focuses on the structure, formation and recognition of non-canonical nucleic acid structures, such as G-quadruplexes and i-Motifs, and their roles in vital biological processes. Prior to taking up her current position, she was the recipient of an NHMRC Fellowship (2017-2021) and the Neurotrauma Research Program Fellowship (2017-2019) which she relinquished to take up her NHMRC fellowship. She obtained her BSc at the University of Sydney and her PhD at the University of Western Australia (June 2010).
